Tighter security for today's Bar Exams

Manila, Philippines - At least 100 policemen will be stationed in and around the UST campus with bomb-sniffing dogs to secure the area and to avoid a repeat of last year's bombing at the De La Salle University in Manila where at least 47 were injured.

Also for the first time, a new format in the exams was introduced.  A multiple choice questions will be used and is accounted for 60% of the total score.  Essay type questions which used to be the sole format will make up for the remaining 40%.

Out of 4,847 examinees, only 982 passed the bar exams last year.  This year, 6,210 examinees are scheduled to take the exams.
