At 92 years old, Andy Rooney was proclaimed dead Friday night. CBS News' long time commentator/reporter died at a New York city hospital due to complications following minor surgery. Rooney has been a fixture on "60 minutes" for 33 years. His career started with CBS during World War II as a correspondent for the Star and Stripes military newspaper.
Andy Rooney was a regular fixture on millions of American households on Sunday evenings appearing only for a few minutes in one of the highly rated television programs.
Rooney always had a witty comment on almost anything from designer jeans, to banks and baseball.
